About SOS Outdoors

Practical kit for real outdoor adventures

Hi, I’m Jack, the founder of SOS Outdoors.

I started SOS Outdoors because being outside has always been where I feel most at home. Whether it is camping, kayaking or simply getting away from everyday noise, time outdoors gives us the chance to slow down, reset and experience something real.

As a full-time single dad, some of my best memories have come from exploring and having outdoor adventures with my daughter. Those experiences shaped the original idea for SOS Outdoors: an independent UK store offering practical, dependable equipment that helps more people spend time outside.

SOS Outdoors is now growing beyond a one-person business, with a trusted friend coming on board to help develop the store. We share the same aim: to build a straightforward outdoor business that customers can rely on for honest information, useful products and personal service.

What we sell

Our range includes genuine military surplus, camping equipment, bushcraft and survival gear, airsoft products and useful outdoor essentials.

We focus on products that offer genuine function and value. Military equipment is designed to be practical and durable, which makes surplus kit a strong choice for campers, bushcrafters, outdoor workers, collectors and anyone who prefers equipment built for a purpose.

Honest descriptions of genuine surplus

Military surplus is different from buying an identical mass-produced item. Unless it is described as new or unissued, it may show signs of previous service or storage. This can include minor marks, fading, repairs, writing, different labels or variations in colour and design.

We believe customers should understand what they are buying. Our aim is to provide clear descriptions, useful sizing information and realistic details about condition. Products described as genuine military surplus are authentic surplus items rather than fashion reproductions.

A straightforward independent business

SOS Outdoors is not a huge, faceless retailer. We are a small, growing independent team brought together by a genuine interest in outdoor life and useful equipment.

That means keeping things straightforward: clear product information, fair pricing, quick dispatch and proper help when a customer has a question. If you are unsure about sizing, condition or whether a product is suitable for what you need, contact us before ordering and we will help wherever we can.

Get outside

You do not need the most expensive equipment or a dramatic expedition to benefit from being outdoors. Sometimes all it takes is a night under canvas, time on the water or a walk somewhere quiet.

SOS Outdoors exists to help you find dependable kit for those moments.

Thank you for supporting our growing independent business.
